Gaster is the fourth and final Normal Mode boss in Undertale Soul OPs 2. Defeating him will end Normal Mode and reward you with the Echoing Shadows badge and the Corrupted Presence Perk.

Attacks[]

Bone Throws[]

Gaster targets the nearest player and unleashes a barrage of bones, dealing 28 damage per hit. This attack can quickly eliminate any careless player.

  • This has a 10 second cooldown.

Ground Spikes[]

Gaster summons three spikes under each player, dealing 100 damage. These spikes rise from the ground more quickly after the Universe Core is struck for the third time.

  • This has a 1 second cooldown.

Ground Smash[]

Gaster slams his hand onto random areas of the floor, instantly killing players upon impact. The slam also generates a shockwave that deals 60 damage.

  • This has a 13 second cooldown.

Gaster Hands[]

Gaster summons four hands above him, forming a beam that deals 45 damage.

  • This has a 10.5 second cooldown.

Big Gaster Hands[]

Gaster summons two hands above him, generating a beam that deals 75,000 damage.

  • This has a 22 second cooldown.

Hand Pull[]

GasterAway

The "GET AWAY" UI.

Gaster summons a hand that appears at a specific point beneath the floor. When you approach this area, a warning message will pop up on the screen, saying, "Get Away" If you stay in the area for too long, the hand will grab you, pulling you beneath the floor and into the void, which results in instant death unless you manage to escape in time.

  • Cooldown is unknown.

Clones[]

Gaster summons clones, each with 3,500 HP and -66 armor. They take damage like any other enemy. A maximum of four clones can appear at once. These clones can use all of Gaster's attacks mentioned above, except for Hand Pull and Big Gaster Hands.

  • Clones reset every 80 seconds.

Strategy[]

To beat Gaster, you have to hit the real clone 50 times and "stun" him. Then, someone can take a Soul and aim it at the Universe Core. Each hit makes Gaster stronger, faster, and changes the pattern of the Universe Core.

  • Phase 1: The Core is still. Aim for the center.
  • Phase 2: The Core moves up and down. Predict its next move.
  • Phase 3: The Core moves in an infinity shape. Aim right at the edge of the Core while it's moving in that direction.
  • Phase 4: The Core moves randomly. Get close and don't rush. Aim when the Core is moving on the edge of that direction.
  • Phase 5: The Core moves across the map, like in Phase 2, but horizontally.
  • Phase 6: The Core moves quickly across the map, like in Phase 5.

After Phase 6, the fight ends.

Attack Strategies[]

Spikes: Move around constantly.

Bones: Don't get near Gaster unless you have a melee character, or circle around him in that case, move horizontally.

Hand Blasters (Both big and small): Same strategy as Bones.

Ground Smash: Stay away from all corners, use audio cues to decypher the attack's original position and jump accordingly.

Hand Pull: Move around and quickly to decypher the pull's location, then run as far as possible before the windup ends.

Dialogues[]

Meeting[]

This is the first time the Universe Core went on Quarantine Mode.

But the amount of chaos here was still unexpected.

Whenever a serious threat occurs to this so called "Multiverse" of yours...

The contraption here is programmed to protect the Universes.

It is truly magnificent. At least for some.

I am not interested in any of the Alternate Universes.

You might be asking, what is this little lecture about?

The Universe Core has been trying to eliminate any energy source that could fully power it.

Because if it was powered by someone, it would give them the ability to reshape the universes in their own image.

I could not care less about what happens to the Alternative Universes.

But you are interrupting the quarantine process, putting the Original Universe at risk.

You will now have a moment to safely disconnect, I will handle everything else.

...

Interesting.

I thought I was clear enough.

Well, in that case...

I will manually remove you from the session.

The fight then begins.

Gaster has an extra line if you skip his dialogue.

...

Rude.

The fight then begins as usual.

Defeat[]

Interesting.

Very interesting.

All this struggle... for what?

Why do you insist on keeping this up?

Don't you want to end the suffering?

Imagine the countless universes out there...

People suddenly losing their homes, their families.

...

But you do not care, do you?

This is all just a game, a way for you to escape from your sad reality.

The countless amount of content you consume isn't enough.

Your insatiable hunger is fascinating.

YOU WANT MORE, AND I CAN GIVE YOU JUST THAT.

But...

The risk I'm taking for your entertainment is a big one.

Therefore, you will be playing by my own rules.

PUT ON A GOOD SHOW. DO NOT DISAPPOINT.

CoreCrush

The Universe Core, right before it explodes.

Gaster then proceeds to crush the Universe Core.

Endless Mode[]

If you wish to test yourselves...

I have a place where you can do so by helping the chaos unfold.

Do not hold back and make this fun for all of us.

Good luck.

The map then proceeds to become transparent along with a white glow in the players' screen.

Game Trailer[]

SO MANY UNIVERSES.

THE RISE AND FALL OF COUNTLESS CREATIONS.

MANY OF THEM BEING ABANDONED BY THEIR OWN CREATORS.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, JUST A MOCKERY OF THE ORIGINAL.

NOW THEY BARELY LIVE OFF OF THE FEW THAT CAN'T BE SATISFIED.

THE FEW THAT WILL NOT STOP... "PLAYING".

IF YOU WANT MORE...

IT IS MY PLEASURE TO GIVE YOU JUST THAT.

I'LL BE WATCHING.
